LiDAR is an critical component in Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) since it is perceived that sensor fusion of cameras, LiDARs and millimeter radars will be the future trend.

LiDAR is a 3D distance measuring device that emits laser pulse. Upon reaching the surface of an object, the laser pulse reflects back and is received by LiDAR. By measuring time differential between emitted and returned pulse, object distance can be evaluated. LiDAR also directs laser pulse to area of interest generating point cloud that displays 3D object-distance map.
